Charm Jewelry
Charm jewelry generally gets its name from the concept
of luck. Sometimes the term "charm" is used to describe a
particular little trinket which may be attached to a bracelet. This
bracelet may be made up or one or many, and is often referred to as
a charm bracelet.
The different forms charms can take as opposed to charm jewelry include
amulets, touch pieces, and painted pebbles. They have been valued for
many years across many different cultures. For that reason, the concepts
behind these items tend to be regionally influenced. Different powers
associated with them include the ability to protect their wearers or
users from those intending harm, to cure disease, or to bring general
good luck.
Charm jewelry may hold those same qualities. Today however, it is more
common that they will be meant to reflect the life and interests of
the wearer as opposed to serving some superstitious purpose. Many different
pendants and trinkets will commonly make up a single charm bracelet.
They may reflect kids, pets, hobbies, occupations, and so on.
